Santa Claus is coming to town!

The Belleville Police Service is reminding city residents that the Belleville Santa Claus Parade is this Sunday, November 17th, 2019.  In preparation for the Parade, some traffic disruptions will occur before and during the parade. A list of the traffic disruptions are as follows;

TRAFFIC ALERT: Bridge Street West will be closed to thru traffic, from the junction of Sidney Street to Palmer Road beginning at 2:30pm on Sunday November 17th. The street will not open until all 74 floats have left the Fairgrounds/Racetrack property.

PARADE START TIME: 4:30pm in front of Tim Hortons at the corner of Bridge Street West & Sidney Street.

ROUTE: Bridge Street West through the West Hill neighbourhood, through the Downtown District, through the East Hill neighbourhood, to the corner of Plaza Square where it turns into the Bayview Mall. Belleville Police are advising city residents that all roadways in the area of the parade route will be blocked off to traffic from approximately 4 pm until 7 pm so police are asking to please avoid the area during this time period.

END ZONE: THE BAYVIEW MALL IS NOT A VIEWING AREA.

This “end zone” is out of bounds to the public and you will not see the parade at the Bayview Mall. That is where riders disembark from floats, music stops playing, etc. Police will have the area blocked to safely take care of the floats and approximately 1,500 participants and volunteers as they disperse.

The Belleville Police Service members, Belleville Auxiliary members, Belleville Community Policing Volunteers, and Loyalist College Student Volunteers, will be working with City staff and the Chamber of Commerce Team to make this event safe and enjoyable for everyone. Please respect the barriers and signage that will be posted for this event.
