Impaired drivers nabbed
Belleville police on patrol in separate areas of the city arrested a couple of drivers who had too much to drink, Monday evening.
Around 9 p.m. an officer conducting radar clocked a pickup truck driven at a high rate of speed on Highway 62 near Ashley Street. The vehicle was pulled over and it was determined the motorist had been consuming alcohol.
Following an investigation, the driver was arrested.
Charged with Having over 80mgs of Alcohol in his blood was Timothy Wellman, 56, of Stirling.
Wellman was issued a December 28th court date. His licence

Motor Vehicle Collisions
The first significant snowfall of the season led to slippery road conditions throughout the city, Wednesday.
Throughout a nine-hour span yesterday, police were dispatched to 14 collisions involving motor vehicles.
There were no significant injuries reported and driving behavior not adjusted to road conditions were attributed to be factors in several.
Police would like to remind residents to drive according to road conditions and allow enough space to ensure safety.

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on November 27, 2023 to 5:00 am on November 28, 2023.
Neighbour Dispute – Uttering Threats
On the 27th of November at 8:25pm, Belleville Police were called to a neighbour dispute in the city’s north end. An ongoing neighbour dispute escalated and one of the parties threatened to kill the other. As a result, a 42-year-old Belleville man was arrested for uttering threats to cause death and held for a bail hearing.

Pedestrian seriously injured
A 71-year-old Kitchener woman is in Kingston hospital with serious, life threatening injuries after a vehicle struck a pedestrian on North Front Street, Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the intersection of North Front and Donald streets area around 6 p.m. after the woman was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
The female was taken to Belleville, then to Kingston hospital where she remains in critical condition.
