Mischief
On June 28, 2026, at 5:26 p.m., Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute.
It was reported that a male and female had been involved in an ongoing verbal altercation throughout the day. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the pair drove to a nearby business. While seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle, the female kicked the front windshield from the inside, causing damage to the glass.
As a result of investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief – domestic
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in August.
Assault
On June 19, 2026, at 6:18 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the area of South Front Street regarding a report of an assault. It was reported that a male was physically assaulting another person and was observed to be holding a knife.
Upon police arrival, the suspect had fled the area. Officers spoke with the victim, who reported that his ex-partner attended his location and assaulted him, striking him multiple times. Witnesses confirmed observing the suspect in possession of a knife, though it was not used in the assault.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect at that time, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On June 27, 2026, the suspect attended the Belleville Police Service. As a result, a 43-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant for the following charges:
- Assault – spousal
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
He was held for a bail hearing.
Intimate Partner Violence Investigation
On June 26, 2026, at 9:05 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a suspicious incident.
The complainant reported that on the evening of June 25, she heard a noise near her window but did not investigate further. The following day, she observed damage to the window from a BB gun.
Further information revealed that the complainant’s daughter had been involved in a confrontation with an ex-partner on the evening of June 25.
Police spoke with the daughter, who reported receiving unwanted communications from her ex-partner while away from the residence. The messages included threats to her, her family and her home.
During the investigation, it was further reported on a separate occasion, the pair had been involved in a verbal dispute that escalated, during which the male used an imitation firearm and held it to her head.
On June 27, 2026, as a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was located, arrested, and charged with the following offences. He was held for a bail hearing:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Mischief under $5000
- Uttering threats – damage property
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm X3
- Fail to comply with sentence
Warrant
On June 20, 2026, Belleville Police received a report of an assault that occurred on June 18, 2026. Investigation revealed that a verbal dispute between a male and female escalated, resulting in the female striking the male.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the time, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On June 28, Belleville Police observed the female walking on Pinnacle Street. The female fled on foot and a brief foot pursuit ensued. She was taken into custody a short distance away without incident.
As a result, a 16-year-old Belleville female, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant for Assault.
She was released on an Undertaking.
Warrant
On June 26, 2026, at 1:31 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the area of Station Street regarding a call for service. It was reported that a female was observed stumbling into traffic on multiple occasions.
Upon arrival, it was learned that the female had an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for failure to comply with a probation order.
As a result, Samantha Lajoie, 20-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant.
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
