Assault
On September 8, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report of a family dispute that had occurred earlier in the week.
It was reported that a male and a youth were involved in a dispute outside their residence, during which the male struck his 14-year-old stepchild.
On September 9, 2026, as a result of the investigation, a 63-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with:
- Assault
He was held for a bail hearing.
Youth Arrested Following Disturbance
On September 9, 2026, at 3:23 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance involving youth.
It was reported that three youth were outside the residence when two of them asked a male youth to leave the property. The male refused, and a verbal argument ensued. During the confrontation, the male youth attempted to strike the other two youth with his bicycle.
Officers attended and spoke with all parties involved. When advised he was under arrest, the male youth attempted to flee on his bicycle and resisted arrest.
As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old Belleville male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was charged with the following offences:
- Assault
- Resist peace officer
He was held for a bail hearing.
