Stabbing

On September 10, 2026, at 9:40 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the area of Front Street regarding a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female outside a business who reported that, during an altercation inside, a male had grabbed her by the throat. Following the incident, the parties left the area separately.

While investigating, officers received a separate call reporting a stabbing involving the same male at an apartment above the business. Officers attended and located a male victim in the hallway suffering from stab-related injuries.

Officers subsequently located the male suspect inside his apartment and took him into custody without further incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault – spousal

 

He was held for a bail hearing.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Intimate Partner Violence

On September 9, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report of a domestic dispute.

It was reported that a verbal argument between a male and female escalated. During the incident, the male smashed several household items, pushed the female into a wall, and forcibly confined her in a bedroom by holding the door closed and preventing her from leaving.

Following the incident, the male left the residence. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.

On September 10, as a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Assault – spousal
  • Forcible confinement

He was held for a bail hearing.
