On September 20, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m., a Belleville Police Service officer encountered an individual in the area of Bleecker Avenue and Victoria Avenue.

The officer and the individual sustained injuries and were transported to hospital.

The Belleville Police Service has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the incident. Belleville Police Service is unable to provide any further information at this time.

We ask members of the public to avoid the area and follow any directions provided by emergency personnel.

There is no risk to public safety.
