Criminal Harassment
On September 14, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report of ongoing harassment.
It was reported that following a dispute, a male repeatedly attended two separate residences over an extended period of time. The male attended the properties on numerous occasions, causing disturbances, yelling at occupants, and engaging in unwanted communication.
On September 15, 2026, as a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Criminal harassment – threatening conduct X2
He was held for a bail hearing.
Fraud, Theft, Trespassing
On September 13, 2026, Belleville Police responded to a business on North Front Street regarding a fraud investigation. It was reported that a wallet had been stolen from a vehicle overnight and that a credit card belonging to the victim had subsequently been used at the business. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified a female suspect.
On September 16, 2026, at 4:11 a.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s east end after receiving reports of an individual going through parked vehicles and stealing items.
Officers located and identified the suspect, who was determined to be the same individual involved in the earlier fraud investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Stephanie McKenna, 35-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
- Use of credit card
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Trespassing at night
- Theft under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in December.
