Theft and mischief at east end business
An investigation Wednesday evening into a fraudulent bank card used at an east end business ended with the arrest of a 34-year-old city woman.
Officers were called to the establishment around 9 p.m. after the card had been used at the business. When police arrived the female suspect was no longer on scene however a vehicle involved was identified.
A little more than an hour later police were called by a North Front Street business for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.
After arriving on scene, officers quickly determined the driver was the same female involved in the east end incident.
The female was charged with theft under $5000, fraud under $5000, breach of probation and held for a bail hearing today (September 7, 2023).
Damages property, threatens couple
Belleville police arrested a 46-year-old man on several charges after a couple in a busy commercial area of the city were threatened by a man yielding a knife, Wednesday.
Shortly after 8 p.m. police were called to an area of Bell Boulevard after the couple were threatened by the male, who also damaged some of their property.
The suspect was identified by officers and located at 10:30 p.m. in the north end of the city and arrested.
Charged with Uttering Threats, Mischief and two counts of Breach of Probation is Paul Laroche-Davidson. Laroche-Davidson was later released with a court date on October 12, 2023.
Looking for suspect
Belleville police are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect from a theft from a north end business.
On Wednesday, the suspect stole a number of items from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of a North Front Street business.
The suspect appears to be a white male with a slim build, 5’7” wearing black cutoff shirt, beige shorts, riding a bike.
