Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 87 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 28th of September, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 29th of September, 2022.

Assault with a Weapon

On the 28th of September, 2022, at approximately 11:27 pm, Belleville Police were called to College and Yeomans Street Belleville, Ontario, regarding an assault with a weapon. Attending officers spoke to the female complainant, who advised that her ex-husband lunged into the vehicle through the passenger window and began attacking her and her current boyfriend with an edged weapon. The suspect was located a short time later, arrested and charged with:

  1. Two counts of Uttering a death threat
  2. Two counts of Assault with a weapon
  3. Two counts of Breach of an undertaking

The 41-year-old Belleville, Ontario, man was held for a bail hearing on the 29th of September, 2022. As the incident is intimate partner violence-related, the male’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity.
