Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 193 calls for service between 5:00 am on September 22, 2023 to 5:00 am on September 25, 2023.


Car drives on Train Tracks

On the 22nd of September 2023 at 8:15 pm, officers responded to the CP train tracks near Sidney Street as a nearby resident had observed a vehicle driving on the tracks and called 911.  Police contacted Canadian Pacific Railway and stopped all trains in the area.  Police located the vehicle still on the tracks.  An 86-year-old female from Quinte West had damaged her vehicle after travelling about 100 meters on the tracks.  She was assisted at the scene by firefighters and paramedics.  No injuries were reported and the vehicle was removed from the tracks by a tow truck.


Break and Enter into Food Truck

Sometime overnight on the 22nd / 23rd of September 2023, unknown suspects broke into a food truck parked in the downtown core.  The break and enter was reported to police on the morning of September 23rd.  Approximately $700 worth of product was stolen from the truck.

Break and Enter to a Business

Police were called to a business in the downtown core on September 23rd regarding an overnight break and enter by unknown suspects.  Once inside, the suspects stole a quantity of cash and merchandise.  The incident remains under investigation by Belleville Police. 


Vehicle Fire

On the 24th of September 2023 at 4:45 am, police responded with Belleville Fire to an apartment building in the city’s east end regarding two vehicles that were on fire.  Belleville Fire extinguished the fires and there were no reported injuries.  The vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the fire.  Belleville Fire Prevention officers attended and the fire is being treated as suspicious. Belleville Police and Belleville Fire will work cooperatively to continue the investigation.  Both vehicles were towed to the Belleville Police Service for forensic examinations.
