On the 13th of September 2023 at 6:10pm, Belleville Police received a call regarding a female causing a disturbance in the area of Keegan Parkway. Officers located the female who became violent towards police. The female proceeded to strike an officer with a rock. As a result, 21-year-old Karla Lyons of Belleville was arrested. She was later released and charged with assaulting a police officer. Lyons will appear in court in October 2023. The officer was treated at Belleville General Hospital for minor injuries.
On the 13th of September 2023 at 10:40pm, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 62 and Farnham Road stopped a vehicle travelling at 141km/h in the 80km/h zone. Police identified the 28-year-old driver from Marmora and learned that he was also operating the vehicle without insurance. The driver was charged with stunt driving and operating a vehicle without insurance. His driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. He was issued a summons to appear in Provincial Offences Court in October 2023.
