Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 84 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 31st of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 1st of September, 2022.

Warrant and Flight from Police

On the 31st of August 2022, at approximately 11:20 am, members of the Belleville Police Service attempted to stop a motor vehicle in the City’s west end. A female party provided a false name to officers before fleeing the scene. Police pursued the motor vehicle and ultimately located and arrested the female driver. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the female was wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police for Theft, Operation while prohibited and two counts of Failing to comply with probation. As a result of the interaction with the Belleville Police the 26-year-old female Kingston, Ontario resident was charged with Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, Fail to comply with a Probation Order, Fail to comply with a release order, Adult take Motor vehicle without consent, Adult Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Obstruct Peace Officer, and Flight from police. The woman was also charged with multiple Highway Traffic Act offences. She was held for a show cause hearing on the 1st of September 2022.
