Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 196 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 28th of October, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 31st of October, 2022.

Motor Vehicle Collision- Hit and Run

On the 28th of October, 2022, at 9:47 am, Belleville Police were called to Frankford Road near the Foodland in Foxboro, Ontario, for a motor vehicle collision. A young male on a skateboard was struck by a vehicle, and the driver failed to remain at the scene. The young male was taken to Belleville General Hospital with head and neck injuries. The Belleville Police Service is seeking witnesses who may have information regarding the vehicle and the driver. Public Assistance – Fail to Remain

On the 29th of October, 2022, at 2:00 am, a black Dodge regular cab pickup truck with a yellow stripe on the rear corner panel of both sides of the vehicle struck a building at the intersection of Front Street and Bridge Street Belleville, Ontario.  The driver fled from the scene.  Anyone with any information or video of the incident is asked to contact Constable Ben Walden at bwalden@bellevilleps.ca or at 613-966-0882 ex 4230.

Arrest for Theft

On the 30th of October, 2022, at 9:48 pm, a male attended the Belleville Police Service front counter to turn himself in as police had grounds for his arrest. On the 26th of October, 2022, Belleville Police were called to an east-end business for the theft of a drill. Investigation into the theft led to the identification of 28-year-old Chris Gray of Belleville, Ontario. As a result, Gray was arrested and charged with Theft under $5000 and two counts of breach of probation. Gray was later released with a court date of the 24th of November 2022

Fail to Remain

On the 22nd of October, 2022, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a fail-to-remain motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Cannifton Road and Station Street in the City of Belleville. A white, 4-door vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Nearby surveillance cameras captured the following images of the vehicle. Police are requesting that anyone who may have information regarding this vehicle or dash-camera footage of this collision to please contact Constable Devan Aris #196 by email at daris@bellevilleps.ca
