The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service from October 24th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to October 25th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Male Arrested on Weapons Charges

Belleville, ON – On the 24th of October 2020 at 12:30 p.m. Police attended the area of Russell Street regarding a male threatening a female with a knife. Police attended the area, and as a result of an investigation, arrested a 62-year-old Belleville male for Weapons Dangerous, Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, ON – On the 24th of October 2020 at 1:15 p.m. Police attended the area of College Street West regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported and only minor damages to the involved vehicles. The at fault driver was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway under the Highway Traffic Act.

Belleville, ON – On the 25th of October 2020 at 3:12 a.m. Police attended the area of Parkwood Gardens regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported and the investigation revealed a park vehicle had been struck and pushed down the street. The at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on October 25th 2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
