Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 81 calls for service beginning at 5:00 am on the 19th of October, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 20th of October, 2022.

Assault police officer

On October 19, 2022, at 8:00pm, Belleville Police attended an address on King George Square in regards to a male who had called police several times and was believed to be intoxicated. While speaking with the male, he attempted to hit one of the responding officers. As a result of that interaction, 37-year-old James McMullin of Belleville, Ontario was charged with three counts of Breach of probation and with Assault Police. He was arrested and later released with a court date of November 17th 2022.

Assault

On October 20, 2022, at 12:45am, Belleville Police attended a business on Front Street in regards to an unconscious male on the sidewalk. Investigation revealed that an individual had been in an altercation and was transported to Belleville General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. A 41-year-old male with no fixed address was arrested and charged with Aggravated assault. The accused was held for a show cause hearing and will appear in court on October 20, 2022.
