Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 201 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 15th of October, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 17th of October, 2022.

Arrested on Warrants

On October 15th, 2022, at 8:30 pm, a female attended the front counter of the Belleville Police Service in regards to collecting a court document.  Officers realized the female was wanted on a Belleville Police Service warrant for assault.  As a result, 33-year-old Jessica McDonald of Belleville, Ontario, was arrested and later released with a court date of November 10th, 2022.

Weapons Incident

On October 16th, 2022, at 9:02 p.m., a female contacted the Belleville Police Service regarding safety concerns for a male in his truck in the area of Smith Road and Hwy # 62, Belleville, Ontario. Police attended the scene and located a male inside his vehicle. The male was confrontational and threatening toward attending officers. The male was quickly and safely arrested. While searching the male incident to arrest a handgun was located on his person. Further investigation revealed that the man had killed his dog prior to police arrival. As a result of an investigation into the incident, a 55-year-old Belleville, Ontario, male was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Careless use of a firearm
  2. Weapons - possession for a dangerous purpose
  3. Carry a concealed weapon
  4. Firearm in a motor vehicle
  5. Discharge firearm with intent
  6. Injuring or endangering an animal

The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where he is being held for a bail hearing on the 17th of October, 2022.
