 Assault with a weapon causing bodily harm

On the 7^th of November at 6:05 pm, Belleville Police were called to a restaurant north of the 401 regarding an assault. Upon arrival, witnesses pointed to a male who had fled the premises and was subsequently arrested. Witnesses informed that the male had come into the restaurant, charged the victim, and hit the victim with a chair, at which time he fell to the ground. The suspect repeatedly hit the victim in the face until some customers stopped the fight. As a result, a 39-year-old male from Belleville, Ontario, was charged with assault with a weapon causing bodily harm. The male was held for a bail hearing on the 8^th of November, 2022. The victim was treated at the hospital for facial injuries and later released.
