The Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service from November 19th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to November 20th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Project Renewal
In November 2020, members of Project Renewal a joint force initiative between the Belleville Police Service and OPP East Region Organized Crime Bureau, initiated a Controlled Drug and Substance Act investigation into the illegal sale of cocaine in the City of Belleville.
On Thursday the 19th of November 2020, members of Project Renewal, The Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Team and The Belleville Police Service K9 executed a search warrant at west end Belleville residence. The following was seized as a result of the of the search warrant:
- 24.2 grams of Cocaine – approximate street value of $3600.00 dollars
- $ 1505.00 in Canadian Currency
As a result of the investigation and search of the residence, 38-year-old Belleville resident Jason Crowe was charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) – section 5(2) Controlled Drug Substance Act
- Proceeds of Crime section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
Crowe was released on an Undertaking with a court date on the 14th December 2020.
Multiple Warrant Arrests
Belleville ON- On November 19th 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Belleville Police attended the courthouse regarding a male who was found to be breaching his court release conditions. The 56-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing on the 20th of November 2020.
Belleville ON-On November 19th 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Belleville Police were called to a north end business regarding a female who was wanted on warrants. Officers located the female and confirmed she had outstanding warrants from Belleville and the Quinte West area. The female was also found to be involved in a theft the previous evening at Canadian Tire on Bell Boulevard. The female was additionally charged with theft and failing to comply with a court order. The 32-year-old Belleville resident was released with a December 14th 2020 court date and turned over to the OPP on the strength of their warrant.
Belleville ON- On November 19th 2020 at 230 p.m., a Belleville Police Officer on patrol conducted a vehicle stop in the west end of the city. A female passenger in the vehicle was known to the officer as having an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued for 14 outstanding charges. As a result, the 58-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing on the 20th of November 2020.
Belleville ON- On November 19th 2020 at 830 p.m., Belleville Police attended a West end residence regarding two suspicious people. Investigation revealed that one of the two had an outstanding warrant for breaching her probation. The 27-year-old Belleville resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing on the 20th of November 2020.
Belleville ON-On November 20th 2020 at 12:00 a.m., Belleville Police were dispatched to an east end residence regarding a noise complaint. A male is the residence had an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a release condition and was arrested. 24-year-old Benjamin Bellerive of Belleville was released with a December 10th court date.
