Fraud / Identity Theft / Fail to Comply
On November 17, 2022, at 10:15pm, Belleville Police attended a pharmacy in the south west end of the city regarding a complaint of a male attempting to submit a fraudulent prescription. Officers located the suspect in the store and placed him under arrest. The investigation revealed that the suspect was just released on similar charges ten days ago in Ottawa. The 27-year-old man from Ottawa was charged with the following criminal charges;
- Deals Forged Documents
- Attempted to Use Forged Document
- Fraud Under $5000
- Identity Fraud
- Fail to Comply with a Release Order
The accused was held for a show cause hearing and will appear in court November 18, 2022.
Festive R.I.D.E. Program
The Belleville Police conducted its annual RIDE program last night stopping just over 500 vehicles. One driver was issued a three-day suspension and two other drivers were charged with Provincial Offences and issued citations.
The Belleville Police are reminding citizens that if they are consuming alcohol this holiday season, please don’t drive.
