The Belleville Police Service responded to 45 calls from the 14th of November 2021 at 5:00 a.m. through to the 15th of November 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Collision
Belleville ON- On November 14th, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Belleville Fire, EMS and Police were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Old Highway #2 near Point Anne. Through investigation, it was learned that a single motor vehicle went into the ditch and subsequently struck a hydro pole. No injuries were reported. The driver was charged with a plethora of Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences including: Careless Driving, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and using plates not authorized for the vehicle. Old Highway #2 was closed for approximately one-hour while crews removed the motor vehicle and Hydro lines were repaired. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Cst. Belleville ON- On November 14th, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Police were called to the area of Hastings Dr. and Montgomery in Belleville’s East-end, regarding a single motor vehicle collision, whereby a motorist had struck a Hydro pole and fled the scene. Investigating officers learned that a dark colored SUV had sheered off the wooded Hydro pole—knocking out power in the area. Belleville Public Works and Fire attended and assisted with closing the roads while Elexicon crews were dispatched to restore power. Hastings Dr. and Montgomery Blvd remained closed for approximately five hours, while crews worked to restore the power in the area. The roads were re-opened to traffic around 3am. Police continue to investigate the collision and anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or wished to share information in relation to the vehicle or driver are asked to contact Cst. Mischief
Belleville ON – On the 14th of November, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Police were called to a West-end address regarding an unwanted person. Upon arrival, Police learned that the unwanted male party had slashed the tires of one of the resident’s vehicle. Subsequently 34-year-old David Ashley of Belleville was charged with one count of mischief under contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code. He was released from Police custody with a court date of the 16th of December 2021.
