Project Renewal arrest

Two Belleville women were arrested and a quantity of drugs were seized by police following a search warrant at an address on Bridge Street West earlier this week.

The warrant was executed Wednesday morning by officers with the joint task force Project Renewal, which involves the Belleville Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police.

Two females were arrested without incident and a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamines were seized. Several items considered drug paraphernalia were also located and seized during the search. 

Charged are the following:

Glenda BRANT, 43, of Belleville:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines


Connie MCROBERT, 57 of Belleville:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines


McRobert was also wanted on warrants on charges of Failing to Attend Court and Cruelty to Animals.

Both were held for a show cause hearing today in Belleville.


Mischief on Parks Drive

The rear window of a vehicle parked on Parks Drive was smashed out by unknown suspects Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to the location shortly after 1 p.m. after the owner noticed the damage. Further inspection revealed someone had rummaged through the vehicle.

Impaired driver leads to drug arrest

What started as an investigation into a potentially impaired driver led to drug-related charges against a 19-year-old Brighton man early Thursday.

Around 1:45 a.m. Belleville police were contacted regarding a suspicious vehicle on Pepper Avenue. The vehicle was parked awkwardly along the street, and when the caller attempted to speak with the driver, he was unresponsive.

Officers attended and arrested the male for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and while searching the male, located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl in addition to other drug paraphernalia.

Charged with Impaired Driving, Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample and three counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is Evyn Sutherland. He was released from custody with a November 27, 2023 court date.


NHL Alumni vs Belleville Police Service - Hockey Game in Support of Special Olympics

Cops and hockey stars will be taking to the ice later this month at the CAA arena.

On Sunday November 26, 2023 the annual NHL Alumni game will be hosted in Belleville, featuring members of the Belleville Police Service and a number of NHL Alumni.

This event is part of the NHL Alumni Benefit Tour taking part all across Ontario. 

Former NHL players set to take to the ice include Rick Vaive, Mike Krusheklnyski, Shean Donovan and more.

This game is in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario.

Doors open at 1pm and puck drop is at 2pm.

Tickets are available at and at the door.

Stolen vehicle

Belleville police are asking the public for assistance after an SUV was stolen from a home in the city’s north end, Thursday.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Gardiner Street around 10 a.m. after a resident came outside to notice his sport utility vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle, a white Dodge Durango with attached Ontario licence plate BYWL148, was taken from the driveway.

Voyeurism charge

A 62-year-old Belleville man is facing a charge of voyeurism following an incident at a local high school earlier this year.

In March 2023 police were called to a high school for a report of an older male volunteer recording a female without her knowledge.

An investigation commenced which led to the arrest of the suspect last week.

Charged with one count of voyeurism is Shan Kao, 62, of Belleville. Kao was released from custody on an undertaking with conditions and a court date of November 23, 2023.
