Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 102 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 30^th of May, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 31^st of May, 2022.

Warrants

On the 30^th of May 2022 at 3:30 pm, Belleville Police were on bicycle patrol in the city’s core when they observed a female known to be wanted on warrants.  As a result, Officers arrested a thirty-nine-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident, Ashley Wellbanks, on a warrant for Failure to attend court. Wellbanks was later released with a court date of June 16^th, 2022. 

Domestic Assault

On the 30^th of May, 2022 at 12:26 pm Belleville Police were called to Belleville General Hospital for a possible domestic-related assault. A female had attended the hospital for medical attention. Further investigation revealed that the female had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend. As a result, a twenty-four-year-old Belleville, Ontario male was arrested for domestic assault. The male was held for a bail hearing on the 31^st of May 2022. The name of the male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
