Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 83 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 23, 2024 to 5:00 am on May 24, 2024.

 

Project RENEWAL

Drug (Cocaine- Crystal Methamphetamine – Fentanyl) Arrests

On the 22nd of May, members of Project Renewal conducted a traffic stop related to an ongoing drug investigation, seizing cocaine, methamphetamines and fentanyl. As a result, two males and one female were taken into custody.  The following items were seized during the investigation:

·         25 grams of Cocaine

·         2.1 grams of Methamphetamines

·         4.3 grams of Fentanyl

·         Cellular device(s)

·         Digital scales

·         Packaging materials

·         $110.85 Canadian currency

 

 

As a result of the investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

 

30-year-old William Foster of Frankford was charged with:

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00            CC 354(1)(a)

Foster was released on an Undertaking with a court date in June.

 

28-year-old Braeden Turner of Belleville was charged with:

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00            CC 354(1)(a)

Turner was held for bail hearing.

 

18-year-old Arianna King of Belleville was charged with:

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl CDSA 5(2)

·         Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00             CC 354(1)(a)

·         Three counts of failure to comply with an Undertaking CC 145(4)(a)

 King was held for a bail hearing.

 

 

COPS’n COWBOYS – Awareness and fundraising for Special Olympics Ontario

On Thursday May 30th, during dinner hours from 5pm to 8pm, members of local Law Enforcement Agencies will be joining Lone Star staff, serving tables and raising both awareness and funds for Special Olympics Ontario.  People attending the restaurant can donate through a variety of methods including cash, debit / credit or through a designated QR code.  100% of the funds raised go towards athletes and Provincial / Local Special Olympic events. 

The Belleville Lone Star is located at 130 Bell Blvd in Belleville near the north west corner of the Quinte Mall parking lot.

 

 

Bail Violations

On the 23rd of May at 8:36am, Belleville Police attended the industrial park for a police assistance call.  An employer was requesting police presence while terminating an employee.  As a result of the contact with the terminated employee it was found that he was breaching conditions of his judicial interim release order.  As a result, the 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance and held for a bail hearing.

 

Disturbance leads to arrest

On the 24th of May at 10:19am, Belleville Police attended a disturbance at a residence in the city’s west end.  Upon arrival officers learned that two males engaged in an argument.  During the argument, the suspect picked up a piece of flooring and struck the victim with it.  The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.  While the suspect was being arrested, he physically assaulted an officer.  As a result, 20-year-old Kevin Daley of Belleville was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and assaulting a peace officer.  Daley was released on an Undertaking with a court date in June.

 

Theft – Police seeking to identify suspects

The Belleville Police are investigating a large theft from a business on Hwy 62 in Belleville.  On the 15th of May at 5:45pm, a male and female entered the business and stole nearly $5000 worth of merchandise.  A photo taken from CCTV at the business is attached. Impaired Driving

On the 23rd of May at 10:00pm, the Belleville Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a male who was impaired and potentially going to drive.  Police attended the area of an east end business and observed the male leaving the establishment in his vehicle.  Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver.  As a result of the police investigation, 65-year-old Lon Patterson of Belleville was arrested and charged with impaired operation and over 80.  Patterson was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.
