Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 55 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 19th of May, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 20th of May, 2022.

Driving Over 80mgs of Alcohol

On May 19, 2022, at 12:00am, a city police officer stopped a vehicle in the north end of the city.  While the officer was speaking with the driver, the officer detected signs of alcohol impairment. The driver provided a sample of their breath on a roadside screening device and produced a failed test result. 

The accused, Trevor Rusaw of Thurlow Township, was charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol content exceeded 80mgs.  The vehicle was towed and removed from the scene and the accused will appear in court on June 23, 2022.
