Attempt Theft of Catalytic Converter
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at 8:30 a.m., Belleville Police were called to an East end apartment complex on the report of an attempted theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle. The part was still attached to the vehicle, but the thief caused extensive damage in their attempt to remove it. Police services across the Quinte Region continue their efforts to apprehend individuals who are stealing auto parts in the overnight hours. Residents and business are reminded to be extra vigilant with parked cars.
Boat Ramp Mishap
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at about 11:30 a.m. officers responded to the municipal boat ramp on Herchimer Ave. An elderly male had backed his vehicle up and ended up in the Bay of Quinte. People nearby assisted the man until police arrived. His vehicle was towed from the scene but thankfully nobody was injured.
Break & Enter(s)
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at about 3:50 p.m. officers responded to a west end residence where a suspect entered the home thru a window. This investigation is on-going and the suspect was captured on surveillance video as he fled on a bicycle.
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at about 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a west end residence where a suspect had stolen a high end bicycle from a garage. The Norco Section road bike is valued at several thousand dollars. Please see the attached picture. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to contact Cst. Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at 4:11 p.m., Belleville Police along with Paramedics and Belleville Fire responded to the intersection of Frankford Rd and Ashley St for a 2 vehicle collision. Minor injuries were reported. A 50yr old women from Smiths Falls was charged with Careless Driving.
Mischief
Belleville ON, On 19 May 2021 at 5:25 p.m., Belleville Police were called to Quinte HealthCare – Belleville General for a male person acting aggressively with staff. Officers encountered a 24yr old male who was uncooperative and refused to leave the hospital. The male was arrested and subsequently caused mischief to a police cruiser and holding cell. He was held for a bail hearing on 20 May 2021.
