The Belleville Police responded to 70  calls for service between 05:00 a.m. on 15 May 2020 and 0500 a.m. 16 May 2020.

Impaired

Belleville ON, On 15 May at 2:23 p.m. police received a call about an erratic driver Eastbound on Dundas St E. Shortly thereafter the vehicle was involved in a collision at the corner of Front and Dundas St. Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved. As a result, the driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested at the scene for impaired driving. A Drug Recognition Expert attended at the Belleville Police and administered a number of tests. As a result, Janet McLachlan, a 27 year old Belleville woman was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Further investigation yielded a small quantity of narcotics. She was further charged with 2 counts of possessing narcotics. She was released on an undertaking with a court date of 06 July 2020.  There were no reported injuries.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville ON, On 15 May 2020 at 4:30 p.m. officers attended an accident in the Southbound lanes of North Front St at the intersection of Craig St. a vehicle was coming to a stop and was rear ended by a second vehicle that could not stop on time. The driver was charged with following to close under the Highway Traffic Act.
