Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 77 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 07, 2024 to 5:00 am on May 08, 2024.


Break, Enter and Theft from Food Truck

Sometime over night on the 6th of May, unknown suspects broke into a chip truck on Cannifton Rd and stole a quantity of raw meat.  The owner of the business reported the break, enter and theft to police upon arriving at work the following morning.  Police are continuing the investigation.  Anyone with information regarding the break, enter and theft is asked to contact Cst. Stein at or Quinte Crime Stoppers.


Fire quickly extinguished

On the 7th of May at 7:28pm, Belleville Police, Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics all responded to a residential address in the city’s west end regarding a report of a small fire.  Upon arrival, emergency services personnel discovered that a 27-year-old Belleville man had been cutting the top off a propane tank to turn it into scrap metal when the tank exploded.  The small fire was quickly extinguished.  The male suffered minor burn injuries and was transported to the hospital by Paramedics for treatment.
