Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 73 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 28th of March, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 29th of March, 2022.

Breach of Bail Conditions

On the 25th of March, 2022 a 55-year-old male of no fixed address caused a disturbance at a Front Street Belleville, Ontario bank. When police arrived to deal with the disturbance the male resisted arrest. The male on that date was charged with Resist Arrest, Cause Disturbance and Fail to Comply with a Release Order and held for a show cause hearing. He was subsequently released on conditions not to attend the bank.

On the 28th of March, 2022 at 9:40 am the same male returned to the bank and again caused a disturbance with employees. He was again arrested for Failing to Comply with a Release Order and is being held in custody for a show cause hearing on the 29th of March, 2022.

Assault with a Weapon

On the 28th of March, 2022 at 10:41 pm while on general patrol members of the Belleville Police Service located a male running on Moira Street East Belleville, Ontario with a head injury. Investigation revealed that the thirty-three-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident may have been assaulted with a hammer. The male was taken to Belleville General Hospital by paramedics for medical treatment for a minor laceration to the head. There were no suspects located and the investigation is continuing.
