Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 66 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 1st of March, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 2nd of March, 2022.

Arrest on warrant

On the 1st of March 2022 at 9:39 pm Belleville Police Service was on patrol in the College Street East and St. Charles Street Belleville, Ontario area and conducted a vehicle stop. While the vehicle was stopped police noticed the male in the back seat attempting to hide his face. The male was recognized as somebody who had an outstanding warrant for Failing to Appear in Court. As a result, thirty-four-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Zachary Balciunas was arrested and held for a bail hearing on the 2nd of March 2022.  

Domestic Assault

On 1st of March 2022 at 2:30 pm Belleville Police received a report of a disturbance at an apartment building on Sidney Street Belleville, Ontario. Upon arrival they were directed to an apartment where the disturbance was happening. Police spoke to a couple and it was revealed that a male had been assaulted by his ex-girlfriend. As a result of the investigation the thirty-three-year-old female Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested and charged with one count of domestic assault. She was later released with a court date of the 21st of March 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
