Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 60 calls for service for the 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 15th of March, 2022 to 5:00 am on the  16th of March, 2022.

Domestic assault

Belleville ON- On 12 March 2022, police received a call regarding a domestic assault. Police were advised by the female victim that her hand was broken after being assaulted by her boyfriend. On 15 March, the accused party, a 30-year-old Belleville man, was located. He was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and disobeying a court order. He was later released and will appear in court on 28 March 2022.

Breach of probation and drugs.

Belleville ON- On the 15th of March 2022, just before midnight, city police were called to Johnson Street regarding a suspicious person. Officers attended and located a male visibly intoxicated. Police arrested the male for being intoxicated in a public place. During the investigation, police learned that the male party was currently on a probation order stipulating he was to keep the peace and be of good behavior. While in police custody, a quantity of drugs was located in his possession.  As a result, 35-year-old Jake STEVENS was subsequently charged with breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. STEVENS was released from custody with a court date of the 11th of April 2022.
