Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 157 calls for service over the weekend beginning at 5:00 am on the 11th of March, 2022 to 5:00 am on the  14th of March, 2022.

Stolen vehicle

Belleville ON- On 12 March 2022, at 8:30am, police received a call regarding a stolen vehicle. It was reported that a white 2014 GMC Terrain licence plate CRSP824 was taken from the complainant’s driveway on Johnson Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.

Extortion

Belleville ON- On 13 March 2022, at 2:30pm, police received a call from a male advising that he was being extorted over the internet. The complainant advised that he had send intimate images to someone he though was female he had been chatting with online. Once the images where sent, the male was then threatened that they would be sent to family or friends if he did not pay to get them back. Belleville Police are warning that this type of occurrence is happening more frequently and are urging people to use caution with who they speak to over the internet.

Arrested on warrant

Belleville ON- On 13 March 2022 at 12:45am, police observed a male known to them to be wanted walking on Bridge Street West. Police stopped the male, and he was arrested. Dillon Kerr, 30, of Belleville was arrested on a warrant for failing to comply to a release order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on 13 March 2022.
