The Belleville Police Service responded to 84 calls from June 8th 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 9th 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Utter Threats & Weapons Dangerous

Belleville, ON – On the 8th of June, 2021 at 4:21 p.m. Officers received information that 39-year-old male was on-route to a residence on Dunbar St. with knives to deal with a situation.  Officer arrived on Dunbar St. and intercepted the male prior to him reaching his intended destination.  Upon further police investigation, officers located 2 large knives on the male and placed him under arrest for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering a death threat and failing to comply with a release order.  Matthew Sleeper, from Belleville was transported to Belleville Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing on June 9th, 2021.  

Suspicious Person

Belleville ON – On the 8th of June, 2021 at 4:18 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Maitland Dr. and Mineral Rd.  Information was received that a male was going through wood located at a business in this area.  The suspect was described as a white male, in his 50’s, white T-shirt, blue hat, wearing eye glasses and riding a blue bike.  Police searched the area and where not able to locate the male.

Anyone observing suspicious activity in the area of Mineral Rd. and Maitland Dr. are asked to contact the Belleville Police as there has been several thefts reported in this area recently.
