Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00am on June 2nd, 2022 to 5:00am on June 3rd, 2022.

Domestic Assaults

On June 2nd, 2022, at 9:55am, the Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the south end of the city.  The police investigation resulted in the arrest of a 63-year-old female from Belleville.  The accused was held in custody and will appear before a Justice this morning June 3rd, for a Show Cause Hearing answering to one charge of Assault with a Weapon. 

On June 2nd, 2022, at 2:00pm, the Belleville Police responded to a north end hotel in regards to a domestic disturbance.  The police investigation resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old male from Orono for Domestic Assault.  The accused was later released on his own recognizance and will appear in court on July 11th, 2022. 

The identity of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim. 

Warrants

On June 2nd, 2022, at 10:40am, a Belleville police officer was on general patrol in the east end of the city when he observed a male known to him to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.  The officer arrested the male, 48-year-old Mark Stewart of Belleville, on the outstanding warrants.  The accused will appear in court this morning, June 3rd, for a Show Cause Hearing answering to the charges of Failing to Comply with a Court Release Order and Surety Revocation. 

On June 2nd, 2022, at 9:30pm, the Belleville Police were dispatched to check on the well being of a male in the south end of the city.  Officers located the male and found him to be quite intoxicated.  When officers identified the male, he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failing to Comply with a Court Probation Order.  The male was arrested for the warrant.  During the arrest, officers found an undisclosed number of illegal narcotics and counterfeit Canadian currency on the accused. 

As a result, the accused, 32-year-old Matthew Cvancic was charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Counterfeit Money.

The accused was later released, when he was sober, on his own recognizance and will appear in court on July 11th, 2022 to answer to his charges.
