Threats Lead to Arrest

Belleville ON - On the 28th of June 2021, at 10:59 p.m., police were called to an East end location for a report of an irate male. When officers arrived, they recognized the male in question due to past involvements. While speaking with the male officers overheard him threatening to cause harm onto others. The 35-year-old Belleville man was arrested for uttering threats and held for a bail hearing on the 29th of June 2021.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision at Myers Pier

Belleville, ON – On the 28th of June 2021, at approximately 4:22 a.m., police were called to a single motor vehicle collision at Myers Pier. Officers ascertained that a vehicle drove onto the dock and hit several concrete barriers before going into the water. Consequently, a 63-year-old Belleville man lost his life while a 36-year-old Belleville woman was taken to BGH for minor injuries and later released. The vehicle was later recovered and taken to The Belleville Police Station for further examination. Members of the Traffic Management Unit were at the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. The Belleville Police Service is asking for any witnesses to the crash or any persons with video to contact the police at 613-966-0882 as the investigation is still ongoing.
