The Belleville Police Service responded to 61 calls from June 20th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to June 21st 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, ON – On the 20th of June 2020, at approximately 4:23 p.m., police attended an east end location for a report of a male and female fighting. After speaking with a female victim who sustained minor injuries at the hands of her partner, officers arrested a 39-year-old Belleville man. He was charged with assault and breaching his probation order. He was released on a Form 10 with a first court appearance set for the 10th of August 2020.
Belleville, ON – On the 20th of June 2020, at approximately 8:01 p.m., Belleville Police officers were dispatched to an east end location for a report of a male keying a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment building. Officers quickly located the assailant with the help of the witness and placed him under arrest for mischief. When officers located the owner of the vehicle, they were advised that it was his girlfriend’s vehicle. The 26-year-old Belleville man had keyed his girlfriend’s vehicle in retaliation for an earlier disagreement. He was charged with domestic mischief and later released on a Form 10 with a court date for the 24th of August 2020.
Breach of recognizance arrest leads to further charges – held for bail
Belleville, ON – On the 20th of June 2020, at approximately 9:47 a.m., police were called to an east end location for a report of a male passed out on someone front porch. Once the male was identified, officers quickly ascertained that the male was unlawfully at large and breaching his release order. The male was arrested and searched incident to arrest which yielded further charges for proceeds of crime and being in possession of Heroin and Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. A 38-year-old Belleville man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, unlawfully at large and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on the 21st of June 2020.
