Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 226 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 31, 2024 to 5:00 am on June 03, 2024.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On the 31st of May at 1:10pm, the Belleville Police received a report that a male was currently in Belleville and breaching his Release Order by being out of his residence while not in accordance with the conditions.  Police searched for the male and eventually located him at an address in the city’s east end.  The 39-year-old male from Prince Edward County was arrested without incident and charged with breaching his Release Order.  He was held for a bail hearing. 

 

Fail to remain motor vehicle collision

On the 1st of June at approximately 3:00am, Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the parking lot of a business on North Front Street. On arrival, police learned that one of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene. A passenger in the second vehicle was transported to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle that failed to remain is described as a dark colored Ford F150 Quad cab that will have moderate front end damage. The vehicle was last observed entering the eastbound lanes of the 401 from Highway #62. Impaired Driving

On the 1st of June at 10:20pm, Belleville Police observed a pick-up truck traveling at a high rate of speed on Bell Blvd. Police initiated a traffic stop and upon investigation, observed the male driver to be under the influence of alcohol. Subsequently, 27-year-old Calvin Grant of Stirling was arrested for Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the Belleville Police Service. Following the police investigation, Grant was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80.   He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.

 

Impaired Driving – Fail to provide breath samples

On the 2nd of June at 2:26am, Belleville Police observed suspicious driving activity from a pick-up truck traveling southbound on Front Street. Police conducted a traffic stop and an investigation ensued which led police to issue a breath demand to the driver. The male driver of the vehicle refused to provide proper samples.  As a result,  44 -year-old Robert Lalonde of Belleville, was arrested for Impaired Operation – Refusal. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.

 

Domestic Assault

On the 2nd of June at 12:13pm, Belleville Police received a report of a heated argument taking place between a male and female at a residence in the city’s north end.  Police attended and separated the involved parties.  During the investigation, police learned that the female was physically assaulted by the male.  As a result, a 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested for assault.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Adult Nudity

On the 2nd of June at 1:13pm, Belleville Police received a report of a female with no clothes on walking behind the stores on Front Street.  Police attended and located the female.  Police learned that the female was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court and she was on several probation conditions.  As a result of the incident, the 39-year-old female of no fixed address was charged with adult nudity, five counts of breaching her probation and held on the strength of the arrest warrant.  She was held for a bail hearing on the new charges. 

 

Ride Program

On the 2nd of June in the evening hours, Belleville Police conducted a Ride Program in Foxboro.   Police checked 35 vehicles.  There were no charges or suspensions.
