Stolen Bike Recovered
On July 6 2023 at 8:15 pm, police were contacted regarding a pedal bike that was just stolen in the downtown area. The owner of the bike had stopped at a business and quickly ran inside to make a purchase. While inside, the owner of the bike observed a female steal the bike. Police attended and obtained a description of the bike and suspect. Police and the owner searched the area and were able to locate both the female and the bike. The bike was returned and at the owner’s request, charges were not sought.
Cyclist struck by Vehicle
On July 6 2023 at 8:48 am, a cyclist was riding on the sidewalk on George Street when they were struck by a vehicle which was making a turn into a driveway. The cyclist sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics attended and treated the cyclist at the scene. Police attended and investigated the collision which included speaking to the involved parties. As a result of the investigation, police did not issue any charges.
