Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 87 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 5th of July, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 6th of July, 2022.

Motor vehicle collisions

On the 5th of July 2022 at 7:00am, Belleville Police were dispatched to Dundas Street west and Avonlough road regarding a two-vehicle collision.  One of the driver’s was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and both vehicles were not drivable.  As a result of the investigation one of the driver’s was charged with careless driving.

On the 5th of July 2022 at 5:00pm, Belleville Police were dispatched to Cannifton road and Adam street regarding a two-vehicle collision.  One of the driver’s was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and both vehicles were not drivable.  As a result of the investigation one of the driver’s was charged with making an unsafe turn

Domestic assault

On the 6th of July 2022 at 2:30am, Belleville Police were dispatched to Front Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene and located the two involved parties on the street.  Investigation revealed that the male party had assaulted the female in her apartment.  It was also learned that the male was currently on a valid probation not to communicate with the female.  Both parties were treated on scene for minor injuries.  As a result, the 35-year-old Belleville resident was charged with domestic assault and two counts of breach his probation order.  The male, whose name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim, was held for a bail hearing on the 6th of July 2022
