Belleville Police Service responded to 84 calls for service from the 03rd of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 04th of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic Assault
Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of July at 12:45 p.m. police were called to an East end apartment with regards to a Domestic. Investigation resulted in a 34-year-old Prince Edward County male being arrested for assault. He was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on an undertaking. The male, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim, was given a court date of the 24th of August to answer to charges including two counts of spousal assault and one count of mischief under $5000.
Breach of Undertaking
Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of July shortly after 4:30 p.m. police arrested a 33-year-old Belleville male for breaching his undertaking in a North end parking lot of a fast food restaurant. The male, who was charged in August of 2018 by Niagara Regional Police Service for possession of child pornography and luring of a person under 18 years of age and released on a recognizance at that time, was also charged for breaching his undertaking in May of this year. This breach was as a result of his possession of a device that was able to access the internet. He is being held in custody to be brought before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing via video link on the 4th of July.
