The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls from the 15th of July 2021 at 5:00 a.m. until the 16th of July 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Warrant / Indecent Act

Belleville ON- On 15 July 2021 at 9:00 a.m., a police officer observed a male known to him to have outstanding warrants presently before the courts.  The Accused was also in a location downtown where he had court conditions not to be.  The male was arrested without incident.  The accused, 30-year-old Dillon Scott Kerr of Belleville was charged with Indecent Act in a Public Place and two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation Orders.  Mr. Kerr was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on September 23, 2021. 

Theft / Warrants

Belleville ON- On 15 July 2021 at 10:00 a.m., police observed a male walking on Front St. whom was known to have outstanding warrants that are currently before the courts.  Officers arrested the suspect without incident.  The accused, 42-year-old James Allen Patrick of Belleville was charged with Theft Under $5000, and six counts of Failing to Comply with Probation Orders.  Mr. Patrick was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12, 2021.

Belleville ON- On 15 July 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Belleville Police received a call from a South end resident that a male had stolen a delivered package from the complainant’s porch.  The complainant provided the police with a description and video evidence.  Officers searched that area and located the suspect a short distance away.  Belleville resident, 46-year-old Dale Green was arrested for theft and outstanding warrants that are presently before the court.  Mr. Green was charged for Theft Under $5000 as well as Failing to Comply with Court Orders and was released on his own recognizance.  The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 16, 2021. 

Barricaded Suspect

Belleville ON- On 15 July 2021 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the East end of the city in regards to a male suspect who was in the residence and was on a court order not to be at that home.  When officers arrived, the suspect locked himself in a room in the residence.  Members of the Belleville Police Emergency Response Team and negotiators attended the scene to provide containment and make attempts to communicate with the suspect.  The OPP TRU team later attended the scene as well to assist Belleville ERT members.  The standoff lasted approximately six and a half hours with the suspect being safely taken into custody and without incident. 

The 33-year-old male suspect was taken to the Belleville Police Service and charged with Failing to Comply with a Court Order and is being held for a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for today, July 16th, 2021.
