Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 85 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 13th of July, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 14th of July, 2022.

Careless Driving & Property Damage

On July 13, 2022, at 7pm, Belleville Police were notified that a jeep had struck a stop sign in the west end of the city and then left the area.  Later at 11pm, police located the vehicle and driver on Front Street.  As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old male was charged with the following provincial offences;

  • Driving Suspended
  • No Insurance
  • Fail to Report Property Damage
  • Careless Driving
  • Using Plates Not Authorized
  • Fail to Apply for Permit

The driver was issued summons to appear in court on September 12, 2022 and to answer to the charges. 

Drive Suspended

On July 13, 2022, at 3:30pm, a Belleville police officer was on general patrol in the east end of the city and stopped a motor vehicle for traffic related reasons.  A check of the female driver confirmed that her drivers license was suspended.  As a result, the 34-year-old Belleville resident was charged with driving suspended.  The accused will attend court on September 12, 2022. 

Collision Involving a Motorcycle

On July 13, 2022, at 5:30pm, Belleville Police were called to the intersection of North Front St. and Moira St. regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.  Fortunately, no injuries were sustained by any parties involved in the collision.  As a result of the investigation, the 51-year-old male driver of the SUV was charged with starting from a stopped position not in safety.
