Belleville Police Service responded to 49 calls for service from the 13th of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 14th of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Breach of release conditions

On July 13th 2020 at 1pm Belleville Police located a female known to them on a west end street.  A check of the female confirmed she was currently facing a number of charges and was to be obeying release conditions which included house arrest.  The 32-year-old Peterborough resident was charged with four counts of breaching her release conditions and is being held for a bail hearing.

Assault charges

On July 12th 2020, Belleville Police began an investigation into an alleged assault which had occurred a few days earlier at a downtown business.  The victim had suffered facial injuries during the assault.  On the 13th of July 2020, Belleville Police arrested the suspect, 40-year-old Kier Maracle of Belleville.  Maracle was charged with assault causing bodily harm.  He was released with an August 27th court date. 

Sexual Assault

On July 12th 2020 at 240pm Belleville Police were called to a north end business regarding a sexual assault complaint.  Upon arrival the suspect was found inside the store being detained by a number of customers and employees.  As a result of the investigation 44-year-old Lauire Poulain of Gilmour Ontario was charged with sexual assault.  He was released with a September 24th court date.  The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the assault.
