The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls for service from January 4th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to January 5th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Trespass to Property Act Charge
Belleville, ON – On the 4th of January 2021 at 1:05 p.m. Police attended the area of Millennium Parkway and Hwy 62 for a report of a male that had stolen some merchandise from a nearby store. Upon Police arrival, the male was turned over to Police by Loss Prevention Officers from the store. The 29-year-old male was cautioned for Theft and issued a Provincial Offences Notice for Engage in Prohibited Activity under the Trespass to Property Act.
Breach of Undertaking Charges
Belleville, Ontario – On the 4th of January 2021 at 2:50 p.m. Police attended the area of Dundas Street East and Burnham Street for a report of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, Police conducted an investigation that revealed the unwanted person was wanted for Breach of his Undertaking. Further charges of Breach of Undertaking were a result of the incident on this date. As a result, Police arrested a 24-year-old Belleville man, of no fixed address, on the outstanding warrant and Breach of Undertaking. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is to be held for bail.
City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on January 5th 2021. Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance. Further, several motor vehicle collisions were referred to the Collision Reporting Center located at the Belleville Police Service.
