The Belleville Police Service responded to 238 calls for service between December 31st, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. and January 4, 2022 at 5:00 a.m.

RIDE Program

Belleville, Ontario- On 31 December 2021, Belleville Police conducted a RIDE program.  213 vehicles were checked, and one 3-day license suspension was issued to a 31-year-old Belleville man. Police had also attempted to stop a vehicle at 10:15pm on Cannifton Road as police thought the driver may have been impaired. The driver failed to stop, and a short pursuit was initiated. Police were able to safely stop the vehicle, and spoke with the 60-year-old driver from Tweed. Police determined the driver was not impaired; however, she was having medical issues. The driver was charged with careless driving.

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, Ontario- On 1 January 2022, at 3:30pm, Police observed a female on Albion  Street who was known to them to be wanted on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court.. The 29-year-old Belleville female, Jaquelin BLOOR, was arrested on the outstanding warrants and transported to the Belleville Police Service where she was held for bail.

On the 1st of January 2022 at 3:50 p.m., Police responded to the area of Newberry Street regarding a male sleeping in a back yard. Police attended the area and located the male who was identified as 42-year-old Isaac Richmond. Police learned the male was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Belleville and was subsequently arrested on the strength of the warrant. Mr. Richmond was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was released on an Undertaking and given a court date of February 3rd 2022 to face the charges.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario- - On the 1st of January 2022 at 11:00 a.m., Police responded to a business on Bell Blvd regarding a break & enter that occurred at 1:52 a.m. on the 1st of January 2022. Unknown suspects forced entry into the business, stealing an undetermined quantity of items from the store. The investigation is ongoing.
