Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 200 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 28th of January, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 31st of January, 2022.

Warrant

On the 28th of January, 2022 at 9:34 am Belleville Police Service members were at the Quinte Regional Detention Centre in Nappanee, Ontario. While there they observed a twenty-seven-year-old female Rebecka McMillian of no fixed address being released from custody. McMillian was known to have an outstanding warrant with Belleville Police for Fail to attend Court. McMillian was arrested and transported back to Belleville Police Service and held for a bail hearing on the 29th of January, 2022.

Theft

On the 28th of January, 2022 at 7:34 pm Belleville Police were called to a local business in the west end for reports of a shoplift.  Upon police arrival the suspect fled on foot.  A short foot chase took place and the male was arrested for theft. The male provided a fake name to police. Also located during a search of the male incident to arrest was a set of homemade brass knuckles.  As a result, thirty-nine-year old Ronald McCloskey of Picton, Ontario was charged with Obstruct Peace Officer, Theft and Possession of a Prohibited Device. McCloskey was queried and it was revealed that he had multiple outstanding warrants with the Ontario Provincial Police. McCloskey was transferred to their custody and held for a bail hearing.

Check on wellbeing

On the 29th of January, 2022 at 11:40 pm Belleville Police attended a city residence to check on the well-being of a female.  After further investigation it was determined that a previous boyfriend of the female had committed a historical assault. As a result, a thirty-three-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested and charged with domestic assault.  The male was later released with a court date of the 24th of February 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Assault

On the 29th January, 2022 at 4:52 pm Belleville Police attended a downtown business for a female causing a disturbance.  Upon police arrival they were informed that a female who was currently on a trespass order to not be present in the business had been asked to leave. The female as she was being escorted from the business assaulted an employee. The female also was currently on a Probation order to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. As a result, forty-four-year-old Laurie Mason of no fixed address was arrested for assault and breach of probation.  She was held for a bail hearing on the 30th of January 2022.

Assault

On the 29th of January, 2022 at 8:20 pm Belleville Police were called to an East end business for reports of a female that had struck another female customer in the face in the parking lot. Upon arrival Belleville Police located the victim and suspect still on scene. As a result of investigation thirty-nine-year-old Tammy Denstedt of Belleville, Ontario was arrested for assault. Denstedt was later released with a court date of 24th of February 2022.

Impaired Driver

On the 29th of January 2022 at 9:00 pm Belleville Police attended an east end residence in regards to a male receiving threats from his girlfriend’s past boyfriend. Shortly after police arrival the suspect attended the residence.  Belleville Police spoke to the suspect and it was determined that he was impaired.  As a result, twenty-nine-year-old Robert Tighe of Havelock, Ontario was arrested for impaired driving, causing a disturbance and breach of a recognizance.  He was later released on an undertaking with a court date of 24th February 2022.

Warrants

On the 30th of January, 2022 at 1:15 am Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop on Millennium Parkway Belleville, Ontario in regards to a suspended driver.  The officer recognized the passengers and knew them both to be wanted. As a result, thirty-eight-year-old Justin Howard of Belleville, Ontario and thirty-five-year-old Pamela Barnes of Belleville, Ontario were arrested on outstanding warrants for theft.  Howard and Barnes were later released with a court date of the 24th of February, 2022. The driver of the motor vehicle was charged with driving while under suspension.

Break and Enter

On the 30th of January 2022 at 12:30 pm Belleville Police attended a residence on Bridge Street East Belleville, Ontario for a report of a Break and Enter. There were numerous items reported stolen. The Belleville Police Forensic identification unit attended the scene and completed an analysis. There are no suspects at this time and the Investigation is continuing.

Stolen Vehicle

On the 30th January 2022 at 11:20 am Bellville Police were called to a George Street Belleville, Ontario residence regarding a vehicle that had been stolen.  The Silver 2014 Nissan Sentra was taken sometime between the 29th and 30th of January 2022 from George Street.
