Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 65  calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 27th of January, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 28th of January, 2022

BELLEVILLE POLICE COVID- 19 UPDATE

The Belleville Police Service would like to announce that effective Monday, January 31, 2022 at 8:00 am we will be opening our public entrance to the community. In keeping with our number one priority in protecting the health and safety of all members of the community, families and members of the Belleville Police Service current COVID 19 protocols will be followed. Members of the public accessing the Belleville Police Service are reminded that screening protocols, masks, and social distancing are required. There will also be a change in hours of operation regarding public access to the front lobby, hours of operation as of January 31, 2022 will be changed to 8:00 am to 6:00 pm seven days a week.

Forcible confinement and drug charges

Belleville ON- On 27 January 2022 at 11:00pm, police were called to an apparent kidnapping of a 44-year old female. Police were given a vehicle description and quickly located the vehicle on Roblin Road. The 44-year old victim was in the vehicle with two other females. The victim advised that she was taken into the vehicle over an apparent debt owed. Police located a quantity of drugs in the vehicle after the arrest. As a result, a 32-year old female from Belleville was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, and another unidentified drug, forcible confinement, extortion, and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. A 28-year-old female from Quinte West was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, and another unidentified drug, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. The victim was uninjured, and both female accused parties were held for a bail hearing on 28 January 2022.
