Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 183 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 21st of January, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 24th of January, 2022

Mischief

On the 21st of January, 2022 at 5:29 pm Belleville Police received a mischief complaint in regards to damage to a motor vehicle. The vehicle was parked at a business on Bell Blvd. Belleville, Ontario. The owner of the vehicle, who was an employee, reported that his tire had been slashed and his driver side door was keyed. There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.

Trespass by Night

On the 22nd of January, 2022 at 2:02 am Belleville Police while on patrol observed a vehicle acting in a suspicious manner at a business on Old Kingston Road Belleville, Ontario. The driver of the vehicle was stopped and could not provide a valid reason for being on the property. As a result, thirty-eight-year old Matthew Brant of Deseronto, Ontario was charged with trespass by night and released with a court date of the 17th of February 2022.  

Domestic Assault

On the 22nd of January, 2022 at 11:14 pm Belleville Police were called to a Pine Street residence in regards to a Domestic Assault. Police spoke with a female on scene who advised that she was struck in the face by her boyfriend. The male left prior to police arrival but was located a short time later and arrested. As a result, the male a thirty-one-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident was charged with Assault and Breach of Probation. The male whose name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim was later released with a court date of the 28th of February, 2022. 

Warrants

On the 23rd of February, 2022 at 7:28 pm Belleville Police observed a vehicle on Cannifton Road Belleville, Ontario that was wanted in connection with a robbery in Center Hastings, Ontario. The vehicle was stopped on Highway 62 at Millennium Parkway. The wanted party was driving the vehicle and was subsequently arrested for robbery, forcible confinement, break and enter and theft under $5000. The fifty-one-year-old male from Belleville, Ontario was transported to Centre Hastings and turned over to the Ontario Provincial Police.
