Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 165 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 4th of February, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 7th of February, 2022.

Domestic Mischief

On the 4th of February 2022 at 9:00 am Belleville Police responded to a west end residence regarding a break and enter.  Responding officers learned that the ex-boyfriend of the complainant had broken a window to get into her residence and then stole some of her property.  As a result of the investigation a twenty-six-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested and charged with domestic mischief and break and enter.  He was released with a court date of the 24th of February 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Warrants

On the 4th of February 2022 at 6:00 pm Belleville Police arrested a male who was currently wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants. Forty-six-year-old James Hearns was arrested on two outstanding warrants for Fail to attend for Fingerprints and Fail to attend Court. Hearns was released with a February 24th, 2022 court date. 

Impaired Driver

On the 6th of February 2022, at approximatley 2:00 am Belleville Police observed a vehicle speeding in the west end of the city.  A traffic stop was conducted and after investigation it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.  As a result, thirty-one-year-old Joseph Soule of Brighton, Ontario was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle with over 80mgs.  Soule was released on an undertaking with a court date of March 3rd, 2022.

Domestic Assault

On the 6th of February 2022 at 10:12 pm Belleville Police attended an east end residence for a domestic dispute.  As a result of investigation police arrested an intoxicated male for domestic assault. A Fifty-seven-year- old Belleville, Ontario man was charged with one count of domestic assault and released with a court date for the 7th of March 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
