Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 69 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 2nd of February, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 3rd of February, 2022.

Thefts of Catalytic Converter

The Belleville Police Service is investigating two separate thefts of catalytic converters over the last twenty-four hours.

On the 2nd of February 2022 at 8:10 a.m. Belleville Police attended a business on Maitland Drive Belleville, Ontario regarding the theft of a catalytic converter. Investigation into the theft revealed that sometime overnight a catalytic converter was cut off of one of their work vehicles.

In the second call for service on the 2nd of February 2022 at 1:45 p.m. Belleville Police attended a business on Hanna Court Belleville, Ontario regarding the theft of two catalytic converters. Investigation into the theft revealed that sometime over the last few days, two catalytic converters were cut off of two of their vehicles.

Both of these thefts are being investigated by the Belleville Police Service. Anyone with information on any of the recent thefts of catalytic converters is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Domestic Assault

On the 2nd of February 2022 at 9:00 p.m. Belleville Police responded to a Front Street Belleville, Ontario address for a domestic occurring in the vestibule of a business. Investigation into the reported Domestic revealed that a fifty-eight-year-old male Deseronto, Ontario resident had assaulted his girlfriend. The male was arrested for domestic assault and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for a bail hearing on the 3rd of February, 2022. The name of the arrested male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
