The Belleville Police responded to 64 calls for service between 5:00 a.m. on 20 Feb 2021 and 5:00 am on 21 Feb 2021.

Assault with a Weapon

Belleville ON, On the 20th of February, 2021, at 8:10 a.m., police received a call for service to a residence in the east end regarding an assault with a weapon.  Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with an injury to his head.  Subsequently, 66-year-old Belleville man, James Stewart, was arrested and charged for assault with a weapon and assault cause bodily harm.  Stewart was later released and will appear in court on the 18th of March, 2021.

Theft of Vehicle

Belleville ON, On the 20th of February, 2021 at 5:15 p.m., police received a report of a stolen vehicle from Dundas St. East near the hospital.  The vehicle in question is a 2008 black Kia hatchback with Ontario plate CEKP963.  If anyone has information regarding this incident, please call the Belleville Police Service front desk at 613-966-0882 extension 3015 or Crime Stoppers Quinte at 1-800-222-8477.

Theft from Vehicle

Belleville ON, On the 20th of February, 2021, at 9:20 a.m., police received a call regarding a theft that occurred sometime overnight from an unlocked motor vehicle in the east end of the city.  Several valuable items were taken from the vehicle.  Belleville Police would like to remind the public to ensure their vehicles are locked to prevent crimes of opportunity.
